Swayman gave up a goal 1:40 into the game. He made the initial save, but the puck caromed back in off a teammates skate.
After Team USA tied the score, Nicholas Jensen fired the puck from just inside the red line. Swayman reacted late and the puck sailed by him to give the Danes a 2-1 lead.
The Americans scored three straight goals to take a 4-2 lead, but Swayman allowed another long goal with just seconds left in the second to make it close at 4-3.
But Team USA scored the only two goals and controlled the third period to hold on.
Swayman finished with 18 saves.
