Michael Bisping: Pereira vs. Gane better fight than Pereira vs. Jones

When it was announced that Pereira (13-3 MMA, 10-2 UFC) would be vacating his UFC light heavyweight title, many wondered if we would finally get "Poatan" vs. Jon Jones at heavyweight. Instead, the UFC announced Pereira vs. Ciryl Gane (13-2 MMA, 10-2 UFC) for the interim heavyweight title, which co-headlines the June 14 event at the White House.

Bisping finds that the better option.

"Truly, I think it's a better fight than Alex Pereira vs. Jon Jones," Bisping said during the UFC CEO Dana White's fight announcements. "I know a lot of people wanted that, but you've got to think Jon Jones probably would have just tried to wrestle him.

"We saw that last week with the BMF. We're going to see Ciryl Gane and Alex Pereira having a world-class kickboxing match in four-ounce gloves. I know we hate this because it's kind of cursing it, but I guarantee that is going to be a ridiculous fight."

Contrary to Dana White's claims, Jones (28-1 MMA, 22-1 UFC) says he was indeed in negotiations to fight at the White House, but the UFC lowballed him with the offer.
