Outfielder Kyle Tucker arrives in Los Angeles with high expectations, as many view him as one of the best in baseball.
Over the past few seasons, Tucker has been elite. He’s an elite offensive player, can go and get it in the outfield, and has many playoff at-bats.
Now joining a Dodgers lineup filled with elite talent, Tucker should be stepping into an ideal situation. With so many dangerous hitters around him, pitchers will have fewer opportunities to pitch around him. Similar to what he did with the Houston Astros, Tucker should get pitches to hit.
That’s why Jeff Passan of ESPN believes Tucker could be poised for the best season of his career.
“Kyle Tucker puts up the best year of his career. And that's saying something. For the past five years, Tucker has been a consistent five-win player. In the middle of the Dodgers' lineup and in a place where he can blend into the background, Tucker is in a setup ideal for his success. Nobody questioned his talent. It's time for him to show why the Dodgers were willing to dole out $60 million a year for his services,” he wrote.
If Passan’s prediction comes true, we might as well hand the Dodgers the trophy again.
