On Tuesday night, USC bounced back with a 7-4 victory over San Diego State at Dedeaux Field. By taking down the Aztecs, the Trojans became the first team in the country to win 20 games in 2026.
Then on Wednesday night, USC welcomed Cal State Bakersfield to Los Angeles. For most of the evening, the Trojans struggled to score, and appeared to be in serious danger of suffering a bad loss. In the bottom of the ninth inning, however, Jack Basseer came up clutch, hitting a walk-off two-run home run to give USC a 5-4 victory.
After prevailing in both midweek games, the Trojans are now 21-1 on the season. USC will resume Big Ten play this weekend when Washington comes to Dedeaux Field for a three-game series beginning Friday.
