Is Bill Murray a UConn fan?
Bill Murray isn't necessarily a diehard UConn fan, but he has a good reason for adopting the Huskies as his college team. Murray's son, Luke, is a member of the UConn coaching staff, so Bill frequently attends Huskies games to support his son.
Murray has been a prominent member of the UConn fanbase since 2021, and was front and center when UConn won back-to-back titles a few years ago.

"We're in Vegas last year getting ready for Gonzaga and he's just watching Drew Timme...he loves Basketball and he loves Luke."

Who is Bill Murray's son?
Luke Murray has been a UConn assistant since 2021, making this his fifth season with the Huskies. Previously, Murray was an assistant coach or graduate assistant at eight other schools from 2007 to 2021, including Quinnipiac, Post, Arizona, Wagner, Towson, Rhode Island, Xavier and Louisville.
Murray and UConn coach Dan Hurley have worked together now at three different schools, as Murray was on Hurley's staff at Wagner and Rhode Island. Murray's role on staff is largely to help with the offense, as he has helped the Huskies become one of the best offenses in the country.
Additionally, Murray was part of the UConn staff that won back-to-back national titles in 2023 and 2024. He is one of three assistant coaches on Hurley's staff and is in line to potentially earn a head coaching job in the future.
Dan Hurley is our hero coach but the real genius behind the team is Luke Murray, Bill Murrays son. If you talk to the players, hes the one they all credit a lot, alongside Coach Hurley, of course.

Luke actually took classes at UConn but graduated from Fairfield University in 2007. Now, Hurley credits him for being a driving force behind UConn's success.
Dan Hurley: "There’s just not a lot of holes in the way that we play. We’ve got a great offense, we rebound the ball, we’re an elite defensive team, Luke Murray and Kimani Young prepare us. We’re deep with NBA players that are about winning."
