Uli Hoeneß gives Eintracht Frankfurt CEO transfers advice

Bayern Munich legend Uli Hoeneß delivered a pointed critique of Bundesliga rival club Eintracht Frankfurt at a recent event put on by the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management. Appearing together with Frankfurt CEO Axel Hellmann, Hoeneß put forth his own philosophy when it comes to running football clubs, and suggested Hellmann take a page from his book.
“Personally, I’m not a big fan of selling good players,” Hoeneß stated in comments as captured by @iMiaSanMia. “I always say at FC Bayern: we’re a club that buys players, not one that sells them.

“[Frankfurt board member] Axel Hellmann will come to realize that, in the long run, you lose substance with every sale. It’s nice to get 50 or 60 million once in a while, but what are the consequences?”
Indeed, Frankfurt is one of a number of Bundesliga contender clubs that have enjoyed big player sales lately. But it remains to be seen whether that cash influx can be parlayed into long-term success. Yet, at present, what choice do these clubs have?
