Bandra Road Rage Case: 23-Year-Old BMW Driver Injured, Accused Served Police Notice

Mumbai, April 3: The Bandra police have issued a notice to the accused in a recent road rage incident in Bandra West. The accused has been identified as Anshal D., an event manager residing in Mahim West.
He allegedly punched a 23-year-old man who was in the driver’s seat, fracturing his nose and causing injuries to his left eye and head. At the time of the incident, the victim was driving a BMW, while the accused was riding a motorcycle.

FIR registered in road rage case
The Bandra police have registered an FIR against an unidentified individual for allegedly voluntarily causing hurt and have issued a notice.
Incident unfolded amid traffic
According to the FIR, the complainant, M. Gonsalves, resides behind Mehboob Studio in Bandra West and works in his father’s catering business, with their office located at Bandra Reclamation.
On March 20, at around 6 pm, he was returning after dropping his father off at the office in their BMW. When he reached General Arun Kumar Vaidya Road, he encountered traffic and slowed down.
At that time, a motorcyclist behind him began honking continuously but was unable to move ahead due to the traffic. The motorcyclist then dismounted his bike and started kicking the BMW.
When the victim confronted him, the motorcyclist verbally abused him and punched him multiple times in the face, causing injuries to his nose, head, and left eye.
Victim sustains injuries, seeks treatment
The victim’s nose started bleeding, after which he went to Holy Hospital in Bandra West for treatment. Doctors later confirmed that his nose was fractured and that he had sustained injuries to his left eye.

From the hospital, Gonsalves contacted the police, who recorded his statement. Based on his complaint, the Bandra police registered a case against an unidentified individual under Sections 115(2) and 117(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for voluntarily causing hurt and grievous hurt the next day.
