Georgia basketball learns its NCAA Tournament opponent

The Georgia Bulldogs earned a No. 8 seed in the Midwest Region of the NCAA Tournament. Georgia will play the No. 9 seed Saint Louis Billikens in the first-round of March Madness.

The Georgia-Saint Louis game will be played on Thursday, March 19 in Buffalo, New York. The winner of the Georgia-Saint Louis game will likely play the No. 1 seed Michigan Wolverines, who will play the winner of the No. 16 seed Howard versus UMBC game in the first-round.

Georgia set a school record for most points scored during the regular season and has one of the top offenses in the country. Georgia plays against a Saint Louis team that went 28-5 including 15-3 in the Atlantic 10 conference. Saint Louis lost in the Atlantic 10 Tournament to Dayton.

Georgia enters March Madness having won five of its last seven games. The Bulldogs were eliminated from the SEC Tournament in their first game. Georgia fell behind against Ole Miss and was unable to complete a 20-plus point comeback.
