"Coach Mullins brings years of experience within the Missouri Valley Conference," Bradds said in a school release on April 6. "His basketball mind, forward-thinking approach, passion for the game, and dedication to his players will push Belmont to new heights. We are fortunate to have someone of Brendan's credentials join our program and are excited for what is to come."
Mullins has nearly two decades of coaching experience. After joining the Murray State staff in 2024-25 he was promoted to associate head coach and defensive coordinator in 2025-26.
Before that Mullins, an Illinois native, was an assistant at Southern Illinois from 2019-24, where his brother, Bryan, was the coach.
Brendan Mullins was on the staff at Illinois State from 2017-19, UIC from 2015-17, Wright State from 2011-15, Green Bay from 2009-10, and Mercyhurst 2007-09.
Mullins was a four-year letterwinner at Saint Michael's College in Vermont and ranks among the most prolific 3-point shooters in program history. He made 200 career 3-pointers.
